Pull-Apart Cupcake Wreath for Christmas

A festive and easy-to-make pull-apart cupcake wreath decorated with Christmas colors, perfect for holiday parties and gatherings. This fun dessert resembles a wreath but is made from simple cupcakes arranged in a circle and topped with green frosting and candy decorations.

  • Total Time: 55 min
  • Yield: 24 cupcakes 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ SuperMoist™ cake mix (any flavor, such as vanilla or white)
  • Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
  • 2 containers Betty Crocker™ Whipped fluffy white frosting
  • Assorted holiday candies (such as chocolate pieces, gumdrops, or candy canes)
  • Green and red food coloring (if needed for decorating)

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pans). Place paper baking cup in each of 24 regular-size muffin cups.
  2. Make cake batter as directed on box. Divide batter evenly among muffin cups (cups will be full).
  3. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pans 10 minutes. Remove from pans to cooling rack. Cool completely, about 15 minutes.
  4. Place cupcakes on large platter or tray forming a large circle (wreath shape). Arrange the cupcakes closely together for a pull-apart effect.
  5. Frost cupcakes with white frosting. Add green food coloring to some frosting and swirl onto cupcakes to resemble a wreath.
  6. Decorate with assorted candies for holiday touches, like red berries or ribbons.

Notes

For best results, use a variety of holiday candies like peppermint sticks or red and green sprinkles. This recipe can be made ahead and refrigerated until serving. If frosting hardens, let cupcakes sit at room temperature for a bit before pulling apart.
