This Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole transforms classic flavors into an easy and comforting weeknight dinner. It features tender chicken, savory ham, and Swiss cheese in a creamy sauce, all baked to golden-brown perfection. Its a deconstructed version of the original dish thats simple to make and utterly delicious.
Ingredients
- 3 cups cooked chicken, shredded or cubed
- 1 ½ cups cooked ham, diced
- 2 cups shredded Swiss cheese, divided
- ½ cup sour cream
- ¼ cup milk
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ½ cup bread crumbs, plain or seasoned optional
- 2 tablespoons melted butter optional
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked chicken, ham, and 1 1/2 cups of the Swiss cheese.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Pour the soup mixture over the chicken and ham mixture. Stir gently to combine, ensuring that everything is well coated.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Spread it evenly.
- Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of Swiss cheese over the top of the casserole.
