- 2 cups buttermilk.
- 1 lemon, juiced.
- 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon kosher salt.
- 1 teaspoon black pepper.
- 1.5–2 lbs chicken breasts.
- 3 cups all-purpose flour.
- 1.5 tablespoons baking powder.
- 1.5 tablespoons garlic powder.
- 1.5 tablespoons paprika.
- Cooking spray.
- Parsley for garnish.
Instructions
- Spray air fryer basket with nonstick spray.
- Mix buttermilk, lemon juice, 1 tablespoon salt, and pepper.
- Slice chicken into 1/2-inch strips, marinate 1 hour to overnight.
- Mix flour, baking powder, seasonings. Stir in 1/4 cup marinade for lumps.
- Coat chicken strips in flour mixture, place in air fryer basket.
- Air fry at 350°F for 6 minutes per side until 165°F internal temp.
- Garnish with parsley, serve with BBQ sauce.
Notes
Keep cooked pieces warm in 250°F oven.
Cook in single layers.
Flour lumps create extra crunch.
