For the Crust:
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet instant yeast
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk, warmed
- 1/4 cup water, warmed
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 2 medium apples, peeled and diced
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp milk
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Add warm milk, water, melted butter, and egg. Stir until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
- In a small bowl, mix diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread the apple mixture evenly over it.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into 12 rolls. Place in a greased baking dish and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Bake at 375°F for 25-30 minutes until golden. Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla for the glaze and drizzle over warm rolls.
