Instructions
- Preheat the Oven
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Combine Dry Ingredients
- In a large bowl, whisk together the Parmesan, flour, cornmeal, salt, sugar, and cayenne pepper until evenly mixed.
- Incorporate the Butter
- Add the softened butter to the mixture and work it in using a pastry blender or your fingers until the texture becomes crumbly with small pea-sized pieces.
- Add the Water
- Pour in the ice-cold water a little at a time, stirring until the dough begins to hold together. Gently knead into a smooth ball—avoid overmixing.
- Shape the Busters
- Lightly flour your work surface and roll the dough out to about ¼ inch thick. Use a 2-inch biscuit cutter (or any small round cutter) to create rounds.
- Bake
- Place the rounds on the prepared baking sheet and bake for about 10 minutes, or until golden and lightly crisp on the edges.
- Cool and Serve
- Serve warm for the best flavor. Store any leftovers in an airtight container for several days.
