  • Chicken Breasts
  • 2 large chicken breasts, halved or 4 regular-sized pieces
  • Adobo seasoning
  • 1 ½ tablespoon Adobo seasoning
  • Chili Powder
  • ½ tablespoon chili powder
  • Panko Breading & Other Binders
  • 1 ¼ cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoon hot sauce
  • ¼ cup buttermilk
  • ⅓ cup all-purpose flour
  • Hot Honey Sauce
  • ½ cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce

Instructions

  1. Crispy Baked Chicken:
  2. Preheat oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  3. Halve the chicken breasts if using large ones for even cooking.
  4. Season the chicken pieces evenly with Adobo seasoning and chili powder.
  5. Panko Breading & Other Binders:
  6. Mix panko breadcrumbs, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and Italian seasoning in a shallow bowl.
  7. In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, hot sauce, and buttermilk.
  8. Add flour to another shallow dish.
  9. Dredge each chicken piece first in flour, then dip in the egg mixture, then coat with the panko breadcrumb mixture. Press breadcrumbs firmly for a thick, crispy coat.
  10. Arrange coated chicken on the prepared baking sheet.
  11. Bake chicken for approximately 20 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 165°F and coating is golden and crispy.
  12. Hot Honey Sauce:
  13. Combine honey, cayenne pepper, chili powder, and hot sauce in a small saucepan.
  14. Heat sauce gently until warm and well blended.
  15. Serving:
  16. Drizzle hot honey sauce over the crispy baked chicken just before serving.
