Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 bag (10 oz) tortilla chips, crushed
  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add the chopped onion, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper to the skillet with the beef. Cook for 5 minutes until the onion is softened.
  4. In a large casserole dish, layer the crushed tortilla chips at the bottom.
  5. Spread the black beans evenly over the chips, followed by the beef mixture.
  6. Pour the salsa over the beef layer and top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes before serving.
