For the Crust:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Mix in vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Alternately add the flour mixture and milk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with the flour. Fold in chopped pecans.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
