For the Crust:
- 4 large apples (such as Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Core apples, leaving the bottom intact to hold the filling.
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon until smooth. Spoon mixture into cored apples.
- In another bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, butter, and pecans to make streusel. Sprinkle over filled apples.
- Place apples in a baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes until apples are tender and topping is golden.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
