For the Crust:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 6 large flour tortillas
- 1/2 cup refried beans
- 1/4 cup diced onions
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Sour cream and salsa for serving
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- Add taco seasoning and water according to packet instructions. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Spread refried beans on each tortilla. Top with beef mixture, cheese, and onions.
- Fold tortillas into burrito shapes, tucking in the ends securely.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet to 350Β°F. Fry chimichangas for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels and serve hot with sour cream and salsa.
