Cheesy Hamburger Potato Casserole

A comforting and hearty casserole with layers of ground beef, potatoes, and melted cheese.

For the Crust:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 cups thinly sliced potatoes
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef with diced onion over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  3. In a bowl, mix the condensed soup, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish, followed by half of the ground beef mixture and half of the soup mixture. Repeat layers.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil, sprinkle with cheese, and bake for another 15 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
  6. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
