- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and almond extract until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the chopped dried cherries and sliced almonds.
- Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto the prepared baking sheets.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
- Cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For a softer cookie, avoid overbaking. Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
