Chocolate & Cranberry Puff Pastry Tree

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of ready-rolled puff pastry
  • 100g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 50g dried cranberries
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg, beaten for egg wash
  • Icing sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (180°C fan) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the puff pastry sheet and cut it into a large triangle shape to form the tree base.
  3. Sprinkle the chopped dark chocolate and dried cranberries evenly over the pastry.
  4. Roll the pastry from the base to the tip to enclose the fillings.
  5. Cut the rolled pastry into strips and twist to form tree branches, then arrange on the baking sheet.
  6. Brush with beaten egg and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and puffed.
  7. Allow to cool slightly, then dust with icing sugar before serving.

Notes

Ensure the pastry is thawed if frozen, and handle it gently to maintain its layers. This recipe is best served warm.
