Chocolate Pecan Ooey Gooey Butter Cake

A decadent chocolate and pecan butter cake with a gooey, rich center.

For the Crust:

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, mix chocolate cake mix, melted butter, and 1 egg until combined. Press into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  3. In another bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add remaining 2 eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well. Gradually add powdered sugar and mix until smooth.
  4. Pour cream cheese mixture over the cake layer. Sprinkle chopped pecans evenly on top.
  5. Bake for 40-45 minutes until edges are set but center is still slightly gooey. Let cool before serving.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
