Christmas Caramel Popcorn

Sweet and crunchy caramel popcorn tinted in festive red and green colors. A fun holiday twist on classic caramel corn.

Ingredients

  • 14 cups stovetop popcorn.
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter.
  • 1 1/2 cups light brown sugar.
  • 1/3 cup light corn syrup.
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla.
  • Red and green food coloring.

Instructions

  1. Divide popcorn between two large bowls.
  2. Preheat oven to 250°F, grease two 9×13 pans.
  3. Boil butter, brown sugar, corn syrup for 3 minutes.
  4. Add baking soda and vanilla.
  5. Divide caramel, add colors separately.
  6. Pour over popcorn, toss to coat.
  7. Bake 45 minutes, stirring every 15.
  8. Cool completely before serving.

Notes

Work quickly before caramel sets.
Stir while baking for even coating.
Great for holiday gifting.
Store in airtight container.
