Gooey Butter Cookies

Soft, melt-in-your-mouth cookies made with cake mix and cream cheese, decorated with festive sprinkles for Christmas.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces full-fat cream cheese, softened.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened.
  • 1 large egg.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
  • 15.25 ounces yellow cake mix.
  • 1/2 cup holiday sprinkles.
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar.

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F, line baking sheets.
  2. Beat cream cheese, butter, egg, vanilla until smooth.
  3. Mix in cake mix until dough forms.
  4. Gently fold in sprinkles.
  5. Chill dough 30 minutes.
  6. Roll into balls, coat in powdered sugar.
  7. Bake 10-12 minutes until edges set.
  8. Cool before transferring.

Notes

Store up to 3 days room temp.
Can freeze up to 3 months.
Don’t overmix sprinkles.
Centers should be soft when done.
