Christmas Wreath Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a wreath-shaped cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Decorate with icing and festive toppings.

Notes

For a vegan version, substitute eggs with applesauce and use plant-based milk.
