- 2 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a wreath-shaped cake pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Stir in vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Decorate with icing and festive toppings.
Notes
For a vegan version, substitute eggs with applesauce and use plant-based milk.
