Savor Cinnamon French Toast Sausage Rolls – a sweet and savory breakfast perfect for cozy mornings and brunch.

Ingredients

  • For the Dough & Custard1large egg2 tablespoonsheavy cream (or your preferred milk or dairy alternative)1 tablespoonbrown sugar½ teaspoonground cinnamon
  • Pinch of kosher salt1tube crescent roll dough
  • For the Filling8breakfast sausages, cooked and cooled
  • Optional Topping1 tablespoonbutter2 tablespoonsgranulated sugar¼ teaspoonground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
    Cook the Sausages
Cook the breakfast sausages in a skillet or oven until browned and cooked through. Set aside to cool slightly.
    Make the Custard Mixture
In a small bowl, whisk together the egg, heavy cream, brown sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. This will be your French toast-style coating.
    Prepare the Dough
Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into individual triangles. Place one triangle on your work surface with the wider end facing you.
    Assemble the Rolls
Lightly brush each triangle with the custard mixture. Lay a sausage link along the wide edge, then roll it up tightly toward the pointed end. Brush the outside of each roll with more of the custard mixture.
    Bake
Arrange the rolls on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown, puffed, and lightly crisp.
    Add the Optional Topping
Mix granulated sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Once the rolls come out of the oven, rub a small amount of butter over each one and sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar mixture while still warm.
    Serve
Serve the warm rolls with maple syrup or enjoy them plain for a cozy breakfast or brunch treat.
