- 500g ground beef
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup beef stock
- 2 sheets puff pastry
- 1 egg, beaten for egg wash
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and beef stock. Simmer for 10 minutes until the mixture thickens.
- Roll out the puff pastry and cut into circles for the pie bases and tops.
- Place the meat mixture on the pastry bases and cover with pastry tops, sealing the edges.
- Brush the tops with beaten egg and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
These pies are best served warm and can be frozen for up to a month. Pair with a side of vegetables for a complete meal.
