- Dough:
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- Filling:
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk and let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add sugar, butter, salt, eggs, and flour to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
- After rising, roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
- Spread the softened cream cheese over the dough, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Drizzle with melted butter.
- Roll up the dough tightly and cut into 12 slices.
- Place slices in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For best results, ensure all ingredients are at room temperature. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
