  • Dough:
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • Filling:
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk and let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add sugar, butter, salt, eggs, and flour to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  4. After rising, roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  5. Spread the softened cream cheese over the dough, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Drizzle with melted butter.
  6. Roll up the dough tightly and cut into 12 slices.
  7. Place slices in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For best results, ensure all ingredients are at room temperature. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
