For the Crust:
- 1 lb Italian sausage, casings removed
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups chopped spinach
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- In a large pot, brown the Italian sausage over medium heat, breaking it into small pieces as it cooks.
- Add the diced onion and minced garlic, cooking until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in the dried basil and oregano, then pour in the chicken broth. Bring to a simmer.
- Reduce heat to low and stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese until smooth.
- Add the chopped spinach and cook until wilted, about 2 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving.
