Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 pound Italian sausage.
- 1 yellow onion.
- 2 garlic cloves.
- 1 can (15 oz) Great Northern beans.
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika.
- 3 cups chicken broth.
- 1 cup water.
- 2 cups half and half.
- 1 pound red potatoes.
- 1/2 pound kale, chopped.
- Red pepper flakes (optional).
- Black pepper to taste.
Instructions
- Break into pieces. Brown in large pot.
- Sauté onion and garlic until onions soften.
- Add drained beans, paprika, broth, and water. Pour in tempered half and half. Bring to simmer.
- Slice potatoes thin. Add with kale. Stir until kale wilts.
- Simmer 15 minutes until potatoes are tender. Season with peppers.
Notes
Temper cream to prevent curdling.
Use any type sausage.
Great winter meal.
