Crispy Feta Bites with Honey Glaze

Crispy Feta Bites with Honey Glaze

These crispy feta bites are fried to golden perfection and glazed with sweet honey, making them an irresistible appetizer.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves

Instructions

  1. Prepare the feta: Cut the feta into bite-sized cubes and pat dry with paper towels.
  2. Set up dredging stations: Place the flour in one shallow bowl, the beaten eggs in another, and the panko breadcrumbs in a third.
  3. Dredge the feta cubes: Coat each cube first in flour, then dip in the beaten eggs, and finally roll in the panko breadcrumbs until fully covered.
  4. Heat the oil: In a deep skillet, heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry the bites: Carefully add the coated feta cubes to the hot oil in batches, frying for 2-3 minutes or until golden and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  6. Make the glaze: In a small saucepan, warm the honey over low heat and stir in the fresh thyme leaves.
  7. Glaze and serve: Drizzle the warm honey glaze over the crispy feta bites and serve immediately.

Notes

For a spicier version, add a pinch of chili flakes to the honey glaze. Best served fresh and hot.
