For the Crust:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup finely chopped apples
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix milk, egg, and vanilla extract. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the chopped apples.
- Heat oil in a deep pan to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Drop tablespoon-sized portions of batter into the hot oil, frying until golden brown (about 2-3 minutes per side).
- Remove fritters with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with glaze before serving.
