Easy Lemon Glazed Loaf

A moist and tangy lemon loaf topped with a sweet lemon glaze.

For the Crust:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons lemon zest
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in lemon zest and lemon juice.
  4. Alternately add the flour mixture and milk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  5. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  6. For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar and lemon juice until smooth. Drizzle over the cooled loaf. Let glaze set before slicing.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
