- For the Meatballs:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- For the Sauce:
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon thyme
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and pepper. Form into 1-inch meatballs.
- Place meatballs on a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes.
- In a skillet, sauté onions and garlic until caramelized.
- Add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme to the skillet. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Add baked meatballs to the sauce and cook for another 10 minutes.
Notes
Serve with crusty bread for dipping. This recipe pairs well with a side salad.
