- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large bowl, mix sugar and melted butter until well combined.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract and molasses.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
Notes
Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days. For extra fudginess, do not overbake.
