Golden Baked Brie with Caramelized Apples and Thyme

This elegant appetizer features creamy brie baked to perfection, topped with sweet caramelized apples and fresh thyme for a savory-sweet flavor.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4-6 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8-ounce) wheel of Brie cheese
  • 2 medium apples, cored and thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Optional: Crackers or baguette slices for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the Brie wheel on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the sliced apples, brown sugar, thyme, and salt. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 8-10 minutes until the apples are caramelized and tender.
  3. Spoon the caramelized apples over the Brie wheel.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the Brie is soft and bubbly.
  5. Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes before serving. Serve with crackers or baguette slices.

Notes

For best results, use fresh thyme and crisp apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp. This recipe pairs well with wine.
