Gooey Caramel Chocolate Crunch Bars

Decadent bars with a crunchy base, gooey caramel middle, and rich chocolate topping.

For the Crust:

  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 (14 oz) bag soft caramels
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line an 8×8 baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar. Press firmly into pan and bake for 10 minutes.
  3. In a saucepan, melt caramels with heavy cream over low heat, stirring until smooth. Pour over baked crust.
  4. Sprinkle chocolate chips over hot caramel. Let sit 2 minutes, then spread evenly.
  5. Top with chopped nuts (if using) and sea salt. Chill for 2 hours before cutting.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
