- 2 pounds 85% ground beef.
- 1/4 yellow onion, diced.
- 2 oz packet onion soup mix.
- 2 tablespoons milk.
- 1 teaspoon salt.
- 1 teaspoon ground pepper.
- 12 Hawaiian rolls.
- 8 ounces sliced cheddar cheese.
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted.
- 2 teaspoons sesame seeds.
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Mix ground beef, onion, soup mix, milk, salt, and pepper.
- Press into 9×13 dish and bake for 20 minutes.
- Slice rolls horizontally and place bottoms in the dish.
- Layer cheese, topped with drained beef, and more cheese.
- Place tops of rolls, brush with melted butter.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds and bake for another 20 minutes.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before cutting.
Notes
Patty shrinks 25% when cooked.
Drain meat before assembling.
Keep rolls connected while slicing.
