Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

Decadent chocolate chip cookie bars with a gooey salted caramel center.

For the Crust:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  4. Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Press half the cookie dough into the prepared pan. Drizzle caramel sauce evenly over the dough.
  6. Drop remaining dough over the caramel layer and gently spread to cover.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Let cool completely before slicing.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
