Honey Almond Baklava Triangles

Crispy, flaky phyllo pastry filled with a sweet almond mixture and drizzled with honey syrup.

For the Crust:

  • 1 package phyllo dough, thawed
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups almonds, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking sheet.
  2. Mix almonds, sugar, cinnamon, and cloves in a bowl for the filling.
  3. Layer 2 sheets of phyllo dough, brushing each with melted butter. Cut into strips.
  4. Place a teaspoon of almond mixture at one end of each strip and fold into triangles.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Meanwhile, simmer honey, water, and lemon juice for 10 minutes to make syrup.
  7. Drizzle warm syrup over baked baklava triangles and let cool before serving.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
