For the Crust:
- 1 package phyllo dough, thawed
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups almonds, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1 cup honey
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tsp lemon juice
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking sheet.
- Mix almonds, sugar, cinnamon, and cloves in a bowl for the filling.
- Layer 2 sheets of phyllo dough, brushing each with melted butter. Cut into strips.
- Place a teaspoon of almond mixture at one end of each strip and fold into triangles.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Meanwhile, simmer honey, water, and lemon juice for 10 minutes to make syrup.
- Drizzle warm syrup over baked baklava triangles and let cool before serving.
