Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Place the stick of butter in a 8×8 inch baking dish and melt in the oven.Drain peaches and mix with 1/2 cup sugar. Set aside.In a medium bowl, combine 1 cup sugar, flour, baking powder, salt, milk, and vanilla to form a batter.Pour batter over melted butter in the baking dish without stirring. Arrange sugared peaches evenly on top.Bake for 60 minutes or until the crust is golden brown. The batter will rise to the top during baking.
