Luscious Walnut Banana Cake

A moist and flavorful banana cake packed with crunchy walnuts, perfect for any occasion.

For the Crust:

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the butter mixture, alternating with mashed bananas and buttermilk. Fold in chopped walnuts.
  4. Pour batter into prepared cake pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  5. Allow cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
