Mouth-watering Cherry Cobbler Bars

Delicious cherry cobbler bars with a buttery crust and sweet cherry filling.

For the Crust:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups cherry pie filling
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds (optional)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C) and grease a 9Γ—13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Beat the egg and mix it into the flour mixture until a dough forms.
  4. Press half of the dough into the prepared baking pan to form the crust.
  5. Spread the cherry pie filling evenly over the crust. Drizzle with almond extract.
  6. Crumble the remaining dough over the cherry filling. Sprinkle with sliced almonds if desired.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  8. Let cool completely before cutting into bars.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
