For the Crust:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2/3 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
- 4–5 tbsp ice water
- 3 medium apples, peeled and diced
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add ice water until dough comes together.
- Roll out dough on a floured surface and cut into 12 circles. Press into a muffin tin to form mini pie crusts.
- In a bowl, combine diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Spoon mixture into pie crusts.
- Top with another small circle of dough or lattice strips. Brush with egg wash.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Drizzle with salted caramel sauce before serving.
