- 1 lb Italian sausage, casings removed
- 2 cups sliced mushrooms
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 egg, beaten for egg wash
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until browned, about 5 minutes.
- Add mushrooms, onion, and garlic; cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in heavy cream and simmer until thickened, about 3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- Divide mixture into individual pie dishes.
- Roll out puff pastry and cut to fit over the dishes. Brush with egg wash.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until pastry is golden and puffed.
Notes
For a vegetarian version, substitute sausage with plant-based alternatives.
