Alabama Fire Crackers

Saltine crackers get a fiery makeover with ranch seasoning and red pepper flakes. A classic southern party snack that’s perfectly spicy and savory.

Ingredients

  • 1 2/3 cups vegetable or canola oil.
  • 2 (1-ounce) packets Ranch dressing mix.
  • 23 tablespoons crushed red pepper flakes.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder.
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder.
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper.
  • 1 (16-ounce) box Saltine crackers.

Instructions

  1. Combine oil, ranch mix, pepper flakes, and seasonings in a gallon zip-top bag. Shake well.
  2. Add saltines to bag and gently turn to coat all crackers.
  3. Let bag sit at room temperature overnight.
  4. Heat oven to 250°F. Spread crackers in single layer on baking sheets.
  5. Bake 15 minutes until crisp.

Notes

Can reduce pepper flakes for less heat.
Must rest overnight for best flavor.
Keeps 1 week in airtight container.
