For the Crust:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch cake pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time.
- Mix in mashed bananas and vanilla extract. Stir in dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk.
- Fold in chopped walnuts. Pour batter into prepared pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool before serving.
