Salted Caramel Pretzel Blondies

These decadent blondies combine the rich flavors of salted caramel, crunchy pretzels, and buttery brown sugar for the ultimate sweet-and-salty treat. Perfect for parties or a cozy dessert!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • For the blondie base:
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • For the toppings:
  • 1 cup salted caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 1/2 cups mini pretzel twists, roughly crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon flaky sea salt

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang on two sides for easy removal.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and brown sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually fold dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined (do not overmix).
  4. Spread batter evenly into prepared pan. Bake for 20 minutes.
  5. Remove from oven and drizzle 3/4 cup caramel sauce over partially baked blondies. Sprinkle with crushed pretzels and return to oven for 10-12 more minutes, or until edges are golden and center is set.
  6. Let cool completely in pan (about 1 hour). Drizzle remaining caramel sauce and sprinkle with flaky sea salt before cutting into squares.

Notes

For extra crunch, reserve some pretzel pieces to press into the top after baking. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Warm slightly before serving for gooey caramel!
